We built this PC preform heater module for one simple reason: to kill the downtime that comes from mismatched heating parts. It uses shortwave infrared halogen technology, which gives you that tight, focused heat you need to get preforms reheated exactly right. It runs on 400V, which is the sweet spot for high power—usually around 2500W—so it responds fast. Fast enough to keep up with the breakneck pace of high-speed blow molding. And the 300mm tube length? It’s the standard footprint, so it slides right into most heating chambers without forcing you to rework the machine.
Drop-in Reliability: Materials and Connections
The quartz tube has a special coating that directs the infrared energy straight onto the preform. Less heat wasted into the air. More heat where it matters. Inside, the halogen filament stays steady and consistent, even after repeated heating and cooling cycles. It just keeps doing its job. For the connection, we went with the R7s. Not because it sounded good on paper. Because it’s the industry standard. That means our unit is a straight swap for about 95% of the blow molding machines out there. No rewiring. No adapter plates. Just pull the old one, plug the new one in, and get back to work.
Real-World Performance and What to Keep in Mind
On a PET blow molding line, the heater has to hit temperature quickly and hold it steady. This module does exactly that, with a heat-up time that keeps production moving without pauses. The high power density gives you rapid heat transfer, which is great—but it also means your cooling system needs to be up to the task. If the area around the heating zone gets too hot, the system can overheat, so make sure your existing cooling capacity matches the load. This thing was built for the shop floor. It plays well with what’s already there, it’s fast, and it’s reliable—because at the end of the day, it has to work where it counts, not just on a spec sheet.
