If you’ve ever dealt with a convection oven that just won’t heat evenly, you know how frustrating it is. You get those annoying cold spots, and suddenly your results are inconsistent. Standard single-element lamps usually can’t keep up. That’s where twin tube infrared (IR) heaters come in. Basically, we’ve put two filaments inside one quartz tube. It’s a clever bit of engineering because you get way more heat (radiant flux) without needing a bigger heater. It fits in the same spot, but it punches way above its weight. The power side of things These tubes are built to hit a very specific temperature window. Because you’re packing more wattage into every millimeter, the oven hits its target temperature much faster. But here’s the thing: more power means more current. You’ll want to double-check that your wiring and controllers can handle the extra load. If they can’t, you’re looking at burnt-out terminals, and nobody wants to deal with that mid-shift. No more “cold spots” We use a specific type of quartz glass because it lets the IR radiation flow through without blocking it. By using that twin-filament setup, we can finally kill off those cold spots that usually plague large ovens. And if you pair these with a PID controller? It’s a different world. The temperature stays rock-solid. You get the kind of precision you usually only see in those ridiculously expensive international brands, meaning every single piece you put in the oven gets treated exactly the same. Making it work in your shop The best part is that these are drop-in replacements. They slide right into your existing IR arrays. We’ve spent a lot of time on the mechanical fit, too. No rattling, no shifting when the oven vibrates—just a snug fit that keeps the heat where it belongs. One heads-up, though. Since these push out more heat, your oven’s chassis is going to feel it. Make sure your cooling fans and vents are up to the task. If the air can’t move, your control electronics might overheat, and the quartz tubes won’t last nearly as long. Keep it cool, and these things will hum along for a long time.
