If you’ve ever used a forced-air heater outside, you know the struggle. A single gust of wind blows all that warm air away, and you’re left shivering. Infrared is different. It sends out waves of heat that travel in a straight line. They don’t care about the wind. They only warm up the things they actually hit—like your customers and their chairs. You aren’t paying to heat the open sky; you’re paying to keep people comfortable. When people aren’t freezing, they stay longer and order more. Simple as that.
Built for the elements
Weather is unpredictable. That’s why we use units with an IP55 rating. In plain English? It means the housing is tight enough to keep out dust and can handle a decent spray of rain or snow without blowing a fuse. You can bolt these to the ceiling or on cantilever arms and just forget about them. They can take a beating and keep on humming.
A quick word on power
Here is the part where you’ll want to talk to your electrician. These units pull a lot of power. If you just plug them into any old outlet, you’re going to trip a breaker right in the middle of a Friday night dinner rush. That’s a nightmare nobody wants. We usually suggest dedicated circuits for every 3 or 4 units just to keep things stable.
The “Goldilocks” zone
Radiant heat is powerful. Really powerful. If you mount these too low, your guests will feel like their heads are in an oven while their toes are still ice cubes. It’s a bad look, and they’ll ask to move inside, which kills your seating capacity. The trick is finding the sweet spot. We usually aim for 2.5 to 3 meters high. It gives you a nice, even spread of warmth that feels natural, not aggressive.
