When we design replacement infrared lamps for bathroom heaters, we’re trying to solve a pretty annoying problem: how do you get a room warm fast without the light being so bright it hurts to look at? It’s a big deal, especially if you’ve got babies or toddlers in the house. You want the heat, but you don’t want a lamp that feels like a stadium floodlight hitting a newborn’s eyes. The secret is in the light, not the brightness. Most standard IR lamps are just… blinding. To fix that, we use special quartz coatings and halogen gas. Instead of just dimming the bulb—which would just make the room cold—we shift the wavelength. It creates this soft, gentle glow. Your skin still feels that deep, cozy warmth, but your eyes don’t feel the strain. It’s a much more relaxed vibe for a bathroom. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, a normal heating element would short out in no time. That’s why we build these to IP65 standards. In plain English? They’re sealed tight against dust and water jets. But here’s a tip: make sure your fixtures have plenty of breathing room. Because the seal is so tight, heat can build up around the base of the lamp. If the air can’t move, your internal wiring will fry a lot faster than it should. Keep the vents clear. Swapping them out We made these as simple drop-in replacements. You shouldn’t have to rip out your wiring or call an electrician just to fix a bulb. One thing to watch out for, though:**make sure the pins are seated firmly.**We’ve seen too many lamps fail because the connection was loose, which causes “arcing”—basically little electrical sparks that melt the socket in a few weeks. Also, double-check your local voltage. If you use the wrong spec, you’ll push the filament too hard and it’ll pop. Just plug it in right, keep the air flowing, and you’re good to go.
